Cristina Garzillo Leemhuis – Head of Built Environment, Culture and Heritage at ICLEI
With over 20 years of experience in local sustainability, Cristina will explore how culture and heritage strengthen community resilience, enable adaptation during crises, and contribute to sustainable urban development. Drawing from European initiatives such as the New European Bauhaus, she highlights the often-overlooked role of culture in climate mitigation, adaptation, and climate justice.
Hannah will present insights from the CHERISH Project, a 6-year Ireland–Wales collaboration that examined coastal heritage at risk from climate change. Her talk will share methodologies, digital tools, and outreach practices used to study and communicate heritage vulnerability—bridging archaeology, ecology, and public engagement.

This workshop is the second of the six Capacity Building Workshops in the framework of ECHOES project. It aims to deepen knowledge in critical topics related to cultural heritage activities and building crafts, targeted to educators, community leaders, or cultural practitioners.
